Today one of my good friends asked me to go to church with her.
Even though she already knows I’m not religious.
I said no and that I’m not religious, and she was really, really persistent. Then she started being emotionally manipulative and said that if I loved her then I’d go and that I’d like it, etc. I told her no again. Then she said that “I’d be much happier if I went to church.”
Then I got upset and told her to stop and walked away before I could say something that would damage our friendship. If it were anyone else I would have freaked the fuck out.
I wonder when people I care about are going to respect my atheism.
